An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

What Price Beauty?, the 1928 Tom Buckingham silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Story and Supervision Natacha Rambova"; about a country girl who goes to work at a beauty salon, and she is madly in love with the owner, but he only has eyes for a beautiful vamp who has set her sights on him; there is an elaborate "dream sequence" that helps the owner realize who he should be with) starring Nita Naldi, Pierre Gendron, Virginia Pearson, Dolores Johnson, and Myrna Loy (in her first credited role as "Vamp"). Note that this movie was filmed in 1925 but not released until 1928 (with the possible exception of a single showing at a Pasadena, California theater!). Also note that it is incredibly difficult to find out information about this movie, and movie paper from it is virtually nonexistent, so it is difficult to even know what order the stars were credited in, or what Natacha Rambova contributed to the movie (the only lobby card we have ever auctioned says she did "story and supervision", and we have seen her credited as having appeared in the movie), but we just don't know. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1928 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card (which is the single lobby card referred to in our description above)! It is uncertain whether this is a scene lobby card or a title card, because one would really need to see any other lobby card from the movie to know, and we have never auctioned another one. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

UPDATED 04/26/2019: Note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that this is a scene card and that the title card is text only.

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
