An Unfolded German Art Exhibition Poster (measures 15 3/4" x 48 1/2" [40 x 123 cm]) (Learn More) Hundertwasser, the 1973 German poster promoting an exhibition of art by Friedensreich Hundertwasser which was held at Aberbach Fine Art in New York City. Note that this poster features Friedensreich Hundertwasser art of a man with gold foil buttons. Friedensreich Hundertwasser was an Austrian-born New Zealand artist and architect who also worked in the field of environmental protection. His real name being Stowasser, his pseudonym Hundertwasser (by which he is known worldwide) comes from Slavic languages, meaning "hundred". He stood out as an opponent of "a straight line" and any standardization, expressing this concept in the field of building design. His best known work is considered Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, Austria which has become a notable place of interest in the Austrian capital characterized by imaginative vitality and uniqueness. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Friedensreich Hundertwasser Important Added Info: Note that portions of this item are printed on a foil material and is very difficult to accurately photograph, but is quite striking when viewed in person! Also note that foil material scuffs quite easily, and is difficult to find in nice condition. Please note that this is one of the first 226 items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions are mostly non-movie posters (and most of them are from countries outside the U.S.). It occurred to us that it makes far more sense to auction these in our auction of "special posters" (which also includes lots of non-movie posters) than in our auctions of "oversized rolled" items that include many U.S. posters (like banners, 40x60s, etc). This item needs to be shipped in a tube over 30" (perhaps much longer). WHILE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS POSTER CAN BE COMBINED WITH THE 773 SPECIAL POSTERS THAT FOLLOWS THE FIRST 226, THERE ARE ALSO MANY CASES WHERE IT CAN NOT BE COMBINED. The main reason for this would be if you buy many of the regular posters and a small number of the very oversized ones. If they were combined, the very oversized one would surely become damaged, so in that case, it would need to go in its own tube, and please bear this in mind before bidding on this very oversized poster. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
