An Original Vintage Date Book (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/4"; 26 pages) (Learn More) Paramount Date Book 1923, the 1923 Paramount Studios date book featuring an entry calender and several Paramount stars and movies including: Adam's Rib, The Glimpses of the Moon, Fog Bound, and many, many more! Note that this book was surely a condensed version of their 1923 studio yearbook, with many of the same images printed in a smaller size. Paramount would send these date books to all their exhibitors, with the hopes they would use them regularly to list the movies they played, and that it would remind them to continue to book Paramount movies. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "date book". Studios would create these "mini" versions of their campaign books (often using the exact same pages from the campaign book, in a reduced size), and put a calendar at the start of it with a fancy cover, and call it a date book and send it to theater owners, as yet one more way to try to get them to book their upcoming movies. Because date books were commonly used as calendars, they are very rare, as they were normally discarded at the end of the year. Also note that this is one of an excellent collection of nine extremely scarce studio campaign books we are selling this week on eBay (in nine separate auctions). Even though these are books that have sold for hundreds of dollars in the past, all begin with 99 cents with no reserve on any of them! Condition: very good. The book is in excellent condition, with just minor wear to the front and back covers, and the interior pages are in wonderful condition. There are no cut outs or pages missing (campaign books are often found with missing pages, because theater owners would tear out pages to remind them to book the movie, and sometimes collectors took pages out of these books).
