Date Sold 12/29/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Sunset in El Dorado, the 1945 Frank McDonald singing cowboy western ("Original Story by Leon Abrams") starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Trigger ("The Smartest Horse in the Movies"), George 'Gabby' Hayes, Dale Evans, Hardie Albright, Margaret Dumont, Roy Barcroft, and Bob Nolan and The Sons of The Pioneers. Note that it might seem odd that Dale Evans was fourth billed (below Trigger and Gabby Hayes!), but at this time, she and Roy were married to other people, and they were only a couple on screen. The following year, Roy's wife sadly died, and when Dale divorced soon after, their on screen romance continued off screen as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that Roy Rogers is primarily remembered for his great 1950s TV show and for his B-western movies of the 1930s and 1940s. We have been consigned an excellent collection of Roy Rogers lobby cards from his movies from the late 1930s to the early 1950s, and you will find them in this set of auctions (each of them will have this paragraph on them). This is a rare opportunity to purchase a lot of scarce Roy Rogers lobby cards! Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
