An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Eternal Mother, the 1917 Frank Reicher silent romantic love triangle child labor melodrama (from the novel 'Red Horse Hill' by Sidney McCall; about a woman who marries a worthless man, who abandons his wife and takes their daughter with him, and then she hears that her husband and daughter are dead, so she marries a mill owner, but when she finds out he employs child labor she tries to get him to stop, and he refuses; she finds a child who is injured at the mill, and amazingly it is her long lost daughter, and her husband is still alive, but somehow everything works out in the end!) starring Ethel Barrymore, Frank Mills, Jack W. Johnston, Charles Sutton, Kaj Gynt, Louis Wolheim, and Maxine Elliott Hicks. Note that many people are not aware that well into the twentieth century child labor was commonplace in the U.S., and that millions of poor children worked from before sunrise until after sunset six days a week. It was through the efforts of books and movies like this that finally caused child labor laws to be passed! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned ANY movie paper for this title in all our years of auctioning! It is one of a collection of 25 silent half-sheets we are currently auctioning, in 25 separate auctions.
