An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 11" x 16 3/4" [28 x 43 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More) Night of the Living Dead, the classic 1968 George A. Romero & John A. Russo end-of-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) walking-dead undead zombie horror thriller ("They won't stay dead!"; "They keep coming back in a bloodthirsty lust for human flesh!... Pits the dead against the living in a struggle for survival!") starring Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, Keith Wayne, Randy Burr, S. William Hinzman (billed as "Bill Heinzman"; as the graveyard zombie), and George A. Romero (the director, as one of the Washington reporters!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have sold many Night of the Living Dead pressbook in the past, but we have only once before sold this original herald with the life insurance policy gimmick (and that one was auctioned with a pressbook). This herald (one of two different heralds created for this movie) measures 8 1/2" x 11", with a cool newspaper ad with the cool tagline that reads "If 'Night of the Living Dead' frightens you to death - you are covered for ...... $50,000", and below that it reads "A $50,000 POLICY covering death from heart attack for anyone in the audience during a performance of 'NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD' for this special engagement only has been obtained through a leading International Insurance Company in London." Please note that Uruguayan heralds, like Spanish heralds, were printed in large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Uruguay, and they would have the backs of them overprinted or stamped with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Uruguay for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Uruguay). We strongly suspect that most movies did not reach Uruguay until a year or two after their first release in other countries, but we can't say for certain. Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald (or the date of the movie's first release in Uruguay) unless we know from some other source that the later year was when the movie first played in Uruguay. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the same date as when the movie first played in its country of origin, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it. Condition: very good. The herald was folded across the middle twice, around 1" apart from each other. Otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
