A 1943 Re-Release Theatrical Folded Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/2" x 33 1/2" [62 x 85 cm]) (Learn More)

Das Indische Grabmal (released in English-speaking countries as "The Indian Tomb"), the 1938 Richard Eichberg German action adventure thriller sequel (based on the novel by Thea von Harbou) starring Kitty Jantzen, La Jana, Philip Dorn (billed as "Frits van Dongen"), Alexander Golling, Gustav Diessl, and Hans Stuwe. Note that this was a remake of a 1921 movie where von Harbou's novel was adapted to the screen by Fritz Lang, and then, in an odd twist, in 1959, Fritz Lang remade this movie again, even though he and von Harbou had had a bitter divorce many years earlier! Yes, that IS the same Philip Dorn who later starred in U.S. movies! He was born Hein van der Niet, and he acted in German movies under the name of Frits van Dongen, but he fled to America in the late 1930s, changed his name, and had success there (helped by the many U.S. stars who were away in the service). Also note that this movie was a sequel to the 1938 German movie "Der Tiger von Eschnapur" (The Tiger of Eschnapur).

Artist: Koppel
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has some spotty slight discoloration mostly restricted to the upper right area and upper right blank border. It has small paper loss at upper left above a Danish "Statens Filmcensur" censor ink pad stamp. It has a few more minor blank border defects, but the rare poster is otherwise in generally nice condition.
