Date Sold 1/18/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Steamboat 'Round the Bend, the 1935 John Ford sailor adventure comedy (from the novel by Ben Lucien Burman; about a steamboat captain who pilots a ramshackle floating waxworks museum, from which he also dispenses highly alcoholic cure-all medicine) starring Will Rogers, Anne Shirley, Eugene Pallette, Irvin S. Cobb, Stepin Fetchit, John McGuire, Charles Middleton, Fred Kohler Jr., and Francis Ford (older brother of director John Ford!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great set reference still has a visible clapboard in the image that gives the details about the movie. What is really cool is that a man is holding the clapboard, and the entire cast is standing on the steamboat (usually reference photos are taken with no one present, and the clapboard is usually just leaning on something). The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the set was taken down. Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Condition: good to very good. There is a diagonal tear in the bottom right that was repaired with tape from the back, and there are some creases and a couple of tiny tears around the edges.
