A Linenbacked French Special Poster (measures 8 1/4" x 20" [21 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Looping the Loop A L'Olympia (literally translates to "Looping the Loop At Olympia"), the 1903 French poster promoting a daredevil entertainment stunt event featuring James Smithson ("who alone has emerged victorious from this experience") riding a bicycle down a ramp and through a loop. James Smithson was known as "Diavolo", Italian for "Devil". The Olympia (commonly known as L'Olympia) is a venue which was founded in 1888 in Paris, France.
