An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Leslie Howard was a top English star from the 1910s to the 1940s. Some of his movies include: Gone With the Wind, Pygmalion (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), In Which We Serve, Forty-Ninth Parallel, Berkeley Square (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), and The Petrified Forest. Howard was at the height of his popularity when he passed away in 1943 at the age of 50, when the plane he was in was shot down by Germans. Important Added Info: There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "PHOTOGRAPH BY Elmer Fryer Warner Bros. - F.N. Studios", and another stamp that reads "LESLIE HOWARD WARNER BROTHERS PICTURES". The still is undated, but it would seem to clearly date from the late 1930s. Condition: very good. There is a very faint circular scuff mark running from the left side of Howard's face up through his hair, and then curving around through the background area and coming up through his jacket and chin. It seems very likely someone might have set a glass on top of the still. However, the scuff mark is truly very faint and it is not at all noticeable when the still is looked at directly head on, and is only slightly noticeable when the still is tilted at an angle. Otherwise, the still is in quite nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
