Date Sold 7/21/2011 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Lady Robinhood, the 1925 Ralph Ince silent Spain masked female hero mystery crime thriller (a version of the classic Robin Hood story, but with a female in the lead role!) starring Evelyn Brent (as Senorita Catalina/La Ortiga), Robert Ellis, Boris Karloff (in an early silent role!), William Humphrey, and D'Arcy Corrigan. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are hand-colored lobby cards. In the days of silent movies prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have lobby cards printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color them one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match. Condition: good. There is some pencil writing and water staining around the edges of the cards and there are a few pieces of tape on the front and back of the top edge of the top card pictured but they do not appear to be there for any restoration purpose.
