Date Sold 12/15/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 13 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the classic 1962 John Ford romantic love triangle taming-of-the-West cowboy western ("Together for the First Time"; "Four-time Academy Award winner John Ford brings the American frontier to heroic life again!"; "Screenplay by James Warner Bellah and Willis Goldbeck"; "James Stewart John Wayne in the masterpiece of four-time Academy Award winner John Ford"; about an eastern lawyer who goes out west and finds it completely lawless, and the town is terrorized by a remarkably bad man, but the lawyer, aided by a local man, succeeds in bringing law to the town) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Ransom Stoddard), John Wayne (as Tom Doniphon), Vera Miles (as Hallie Stoddard), Lee Marvin (in the title role as Liberty Valance), Edmond O'Brien (as Dutton Peabody), Andy Devine (as Marshall Link Appleyard), Ken Murray (as Doc Willoughby), Strother Martin, Lee Van Cleef, Woody Strode (as Pompey), Anna Lee, and John Qualen NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS LOT CONTAINS 13 STILLS, BUT ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 13 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE, and NOT just the eight pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best eight stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that on our larger lots of black and white stills (usually ones with nine or more in the lot), there are a small number of lots where there may be one or several duplicated stills in the stills not pictured (we only picture eight of the stills on most of the black and white lots). We tried to note when some of the stills not pictured were duplicates to the ones that were pictured, but we may not have caught that every time, so please do not bid on the lots of nine or more stills unless you can accept the possibility that there may be some duplicated stills contained in the lot (there also may be a very few of the lots with eight or less stills that have a duplicate in them, but that is far less likely and you could see them in our photo). Condition: very good. One still has some creases around the edges and one still has staple holes in the corners, but otherwise, the stills are in pretty nice condition!
