(Learn More) Flaming Frontiers, the 1938 Alan James & Ray Taylor Native American Indian cowboy western serial ("Look out! 'Flaming Frontiers' just ahead! Indians on the rampage! Ruthless outlaws in blazing action! All the thrills and wild adventure of the old west!"; "15 Wild West Adventure Episodes!"; "15 Wild West adventure chapters!"; "Suggested by 'The Tie That Binds' by Peter B. Kyne"; "Suggested by a Peter B. Kyne story"; "Original Story and Screen Play by Wyndham Gittens, George Plymton, Basil Dickey and Paul Perez") starring Johnny Mack Brown (billed as "John Mack Brown"), Eleanor Hansen, John Archer (billed under his real name, "Ralph Bowman"), Charles Middleton, Charles Stevens, Chief Thundercloud (billed as "Chief Thunder Cloud"), Pat J. O'Brien (billed as "Pat O'Brien"; not THE Pat O'Brien who was part of the "Irish Mafia" with Cagney and McHugh, but another actor who appeared in 17 films between 1921 and 1941), Iron Eyes Cody, Ed Cassidy, Charles King, and Jack Rutherford (as Buffalo Bill Cody). Note that for this serial, Universal prepared great full artwork one-sheets that were completely different from each other for each of the chapters. One wishes that all of the studios had done this for all of the serials. What wonderful posters there would have been! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Since pressbooks were INTENDED to be cut up (the theater owners would cut out the newspaper ads to run in their local papers). It is very difficult to find a pressbook that has NOT been cut, and that ads greatly to their value! Condition: very good. Note that this pressbook is one of a great collection of 177 original vintage pressbooks, almost all of which come from Universal Studios. Most date from the 1940s and 1950s, and almost all are complete and uncut! folded in half; creases around the edges of the cover and along the fold Learn More about condition grades
