A Folded German Special Poster (measures 18" x 24 1/2" [46 x 62 cm]) (Learn More)

Not, Elend Hunger, Zerstorung Bringt der Bolschewismus (literally translates to "Bolshevism Brings Poverty, Misery, Hunger and Destruction"), the circa 1919 German post World War I (WWI) poster featuring art of a family watching soldiers destroy their farm. Note that this was part of an anti-Bolshevik campaign related to to the German Revolution of 1918-1919. At the end of the First World War, there was a brief uprising of German communists who tried to encourage the adoption of a government similar to what the Bolsheviks established in Russia. The Weimar Republic was however put in place, remaining until the Nazi takeover in 1933.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster is printed on a thin paper and its foldlines are incredibly fragile. There is separation in most of the vertical foldline and center horizontal fold and several of those areas are backed by conservation tape. It has tears of varying lengths and some paper loss in portions of the edges. The poster is nearly 100 years old, is mostly "all there" and certainly it should be preserved by having it linenbacked (but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid).
