An Original Vintage Japanese Campaign Book (measures 6" x 8 1/4" [15 x 21 cm]; 64 pages) (Learn More) Toho 1962-63, the Japanese export campaign book ("Hit Toho pix screened the world over!") made in 1962 by the Toho Films company to let U.S. theaters know what Japanese movies they had available for export! The book contains 30 different movies, some of which were newly made, but many of which dated back as far as a few years, surely because many of these movies, even the most classic ones, had received slight or no distribution in the U.S., and the Toho company knew there was a great potential market for them throughout the U.S. Each of the movies receives two pages with cast information and a plot synopsis, together with images from the movie, and several of them are in color. Included are many of Toho's greatest movies, including King Kong vs Godzilla, Sanjuro, The Bad Sleep Well, High and Low (with the English title of "Ransom", but it has "High & Low" stamped over it on the page; see our image), and many more, including an ad for Touring the World, an early Japanese anime! Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this wonderful Japanese export campaign book! Note: We have 11 images of the campaign books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 1. Condition: very good. The book has minor wear.
