An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 23 1/2" [42 x 60 cm]) (Learn More)

Anti-Soviet War Poster, the 1940s World War II (WWII) German-produced (either in Germany or countries that they occupied) poster featuring art of a skeletal soldier riding a train to Siberia, with dead civilians (including women and children) in the snow alongside the railroad tracks. We have seen several versions of this poster online, many with the word "Never!" in various languages and some versions had additional taglines such as "Beautiful Siberia is calling you. First departure 3 weeks after liberation". The Nazis were trying to promote the idea that countries were better off under German control as opposed to Soviet control, and they produced posters like these to reinforce that idea. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that, as noted above, versions of this poster were created in many languages. However, this example has no writing on it. It likely was sent blank to several countries where they then added the writing in the language of that specific country.

Condition: fair to good. The poster has tears and some tiny paper loss around the edges, but mostly in the blank borders. Someone put tape on the back of some of them. The poster is fragile. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
