An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Local Hero, the classic 1983 Bill Forsyth English Scotland big business oil company comedy ("A beautiful coastline... a rich oil man wants to develop it. A poor beach bum wants to live on it. An entire town wants to profit by it. And a real-live mermaid wants to save it... Only one of them will get their way."; "Music by Mark Knopfler"; "Written and Directed by Bill Forsyth"; "From the producer of the Academy Award winning 'Chariots of Fire', a brilliant new film by David Putnam.") starring Peter Riegert, Denis Lawson, Fulton Mackay, Burt Lancaster, and Norman Chancer NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie! Condition: very good. The poster had creases across the horizontal fold and tiny paper loss and tears in the middle of the right border, with only minor wear to the other folds and borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not at all distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
