An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Autographed Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Party (released in Italy as "Hollywood Party"), the 1968 Blake Edwards Hollywood movie making acting mistaken identity screwball comedy ("If you've ever been to a wilder party - You're Under Arrest!"; about a major Hollywood production that includes an Indian actor, and the producers hire a real film star from India to play the part, but he is terrible, and he is intended to be fired, but he is accidentally invited to a party instead, with very comic results) starring Peter Sellers, Claudine Longet, Jean Carson, Gavin MacLeod, and James Lanphier. Note that it is said that Peter Sellers did not have a script, and that he improvised all of his dialog, and that the other actors had to "follow his lead", which would, of course, be incredibly difficult. Our consignor acquired this window card from a longtime collector, who in turn had a mutual friend who knew Edwards and Mancini, and that mutual friend acquired both autographs in person. Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but he and we feel certain the autographs are authentic. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
