An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Photolobby (11x14; LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Drums Along the Mohawk, the 1939 John Ford pre-Revolutionary War Native American Indian romantic pioneer adventure thriller ("Thrilling! Stirring! Spectacular!"; "Based upon the novel by Walter D. Edmonds"; William Faulkner made uncredited contributions to the screenplay; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; about a couple living in pre-Revolutionary War upstate New York, and how they must adjust to the difficulties of pioneer life, especially the wife, who grew up wealthy and in a big city) starring Claudette Colbert, Henry Fonda, Edna May Oliver (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Collins, Dorris Bowdon, John Carradine, Jessie Ralph, Arthur Shields, Robert Lowery, Roger Imhof, Francis Ford, and Ward Bond NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that on this movie, 20th Century Fox solely issued a "photolobby" set with glossier color scenes from the movie. We have no idea why 20th Century-Fox did this, but it seems to be something they experimented with in the 1930s and early 1940s on certain movies (sometimes they would issue a regular lobby card set plus a color-glos set as well). We are doing something in this set of auctions we rarely do! A couple of years ago, we were approached by a very long time collector, and he asked us if he could give us an entire auction of single lobby cards by himself. We agreed, and held that auction in 2017, and later that same year, a different collector sent us a different group of 999 lobby cards and we repeated the process. Now we have a third such "single owner" collection. This one was originally assembled in Australia, which is why some of the cards have either Australian paper snipes attached or Australian ratings stamps (but many do not have them). This collection originally contained 1,100 cards, and we auctioned 100 of them in our March Major Auction, and now we are auctioning the remaining 999 in THIS set of auctions, and after this auction, there will be no more cards to be offered. As will immediately be evident when you look at the cards, many of them are from titles where you almost never see any lobby cards, so this is a rare opportunity to acquire many cards that almost never are offered for sale or at auction! Condition: fair. The card was used in Australia and there is an Australian rating stamp at bottom center and a rating snipe at bottom right. There are many defects scattered on the front of the card, with tape stains on the back of the card, all of which have bled through to the front. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card. Please do not bid on this card unless you can accept its significant defects or are willing to pay to have them properly restored. Learn More about condition grades
