A 1941 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 13 1/4" x 22" [34 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Hitler - Beast of Berlin, the 1939 Sam Newfield (billed here as "Sherman Scott") military World War II (WWII) Germany anti-Nazi propaganda thriller ("A wail of anguish... From a nation in chains!"; "An Eloquent Drama of courage, patriotism and love!"; "Now it can be told! A Man mad with power!"; "from the story 'Goose Step' by Shepard Trause") starring Roland Drew, Steffi Duna, Greta Grandstedt, Alan Ladd (in his first credited role!), Lucian Prival, "and an immense cast of internationally famous players" NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was made by a local theater, but it does not have any writing on the bottom, so we don't know what company made it. The dates at the top correlate to 1941, so it is from a 1941 re-release (which makes sense, because if it were from later, then it would surely mention Alan Ladd, because after his great success in "This Gun For Hire", this movie was re-released several times to capitalize on his appearance in it! It has a great different image of Hitler, with great taglines, and with swastikas to the left and right of the word "uncensored" at the bottom. We don't know if it looks like the "regular" window card, because we have never auctioned one, but we know it is completely different from the first release one-sheet, which has an uninspired image. We have never auctioned this card before! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13 1/4" x 22" [34 x 56 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. The right blank border was trimmed off. Learn More about condition grades
