A 1960 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78") (Learn More) Aleksandr Nevskiy (released in English-speaking countries as "Alexander Nevsky"), the classic 1938 Sergei M. Eisenstein Russian biographical historical 13th century medieval knight war action melodrama ("With original musical score by Prokofieff"; Eisenstein staged the battle sequences to match the wonderful Prokofieff music) starring Aleksandra Danilova, Nikolai Cherkasov (in the title role as Aleksandr Nevsky), Nikolai Okhlopkov, Andrei Abrikosov, and Dmitri Orlov. Note that this classic movie was first released in the U.S. in 1939, and then in just a few countries in the 1940s and then to the rest of the world over the 1950s and 1960s. Because virtually none of the posters are dated, it is very difficult to tell what is from the first release, but ANY first release posters for this classic movie are incredibly rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Renato Casaro Important Added Info: Note that this Italian two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures 55" x 78". Condition: fair to good. The poster has darkened on most foldlines and is separating on parts of many foldlines, with tears and tiny areas of paper loss in parts of some foldlines. The poster would greatly benefit from being linenbacked (but it is basically "all there", so it would require little paint restoration). Learn More about condition grades
