What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The left 2" of the poster was folded back at one time. There were three vertical folds evenly spaced down the right 5" of the poster. There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and smudges on the foldlines, with pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
