Date Sold 7/20/2014Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Other Men's Women (also released as "The Steel Highway"), the 1931 William A. Wellman railroad train romantic love triangle crime melodrama (about a pair of railroad workers in love with the same woman; one of them is blinded in a train accident, and he heroically later gives his life so that his best friend can live happily ever after with the girl!) starring Grant Withers, Regis Toomey, Mary Astor, Fred Kohler, J. Farrell MacDonald, James Cagney and Joan Blondell. Note that this was the third movie that James Cagney made, and once again, he was appearing with Joan Blondell, who he had appeared with in his first movie "Sinners' Holiday". Once again, this pair of future superstars were so little thought of by Warner Bros. that they were not pictured on any of the advertising, although this time they were given sixth and seventh billing! Of course, their very next movie was "The Public Enemy", and they remained major stars for decades! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was James Cagney's third movie ever, and he was a very minor actor at this time, and he received sixth billing in the movie, and was not pictured on the posters. So someone who is a James Cagney collector cannot get a poster from this movie with Cagney on it (and any posters from this movie are incredibly rare anyway, and we have only ever auctioned a single window card). But he is in the crowd of people in this lobby card, so this is the absolute best way to get something from this movie with Cagney on it (and lobby cards from this movie are just as rare as the posters, as this is the very first time we have ever sold any lobby card from this movie!). Condition: good to very good. There are brown and black stains scattered down the left and right edges of the card, with a lesser number of stains in the top and bottom borders, with some smudges in the white areas that are not in the borders. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! The card could be displayed just as it is, because the border stains would barely show if it is framed, and certainly, a restorer could likely remove most or all of the staining through chemical means without backing the card.
