Suna no Onna (released in the U.S. as "Woman in the Dunes"), the classic 1964 Hiroshi Teshigahara (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Japanese romantic fantasy melodrama starring Eiji Okada, Kyoko Kishida, Hiroko Ito, Koji Mitsui, and Sen Yano

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! The poster is not the one that Toho printed for the nationwide first release of this movie in 1964, but rather it is a poster that was printed (by a company contracted by Toho) for its 1964 first release in a specific city (or cities) other than Tokyo, and it has a different image than the nationwide one. We have never auctioned it before! Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair to good. The poster had some sort of snipe attached to the top (either the front and/or back), and it caused surface paper loss in the far right of the top, in the fingers and the hair. There are also pinholes in the center of the top border and tiny paper loss in the left of the top, in the letters. Other than that area, the rest of the poster had some horizontal folds. Someone performed some amateur restoration to the damaged area at top right, and it is noticeable. Still, one could display this rare poster as it is, or certainly, a more expert restorer could do a great job with fixing the top right area. However, look closely at our super-sized image and read what we wrote above before bidding on this poster.
