Details About These Items

Why are we auctioning folded non-U.S. posters and LCs AND folded one-sheets together?
In our bi-weekly auctions, we combine all of these types of posters and lobby cards into a single auction. We find that many of the same people buy both U.S. one-sheets and non-U.S. posters and lobby cards, and by offering them in the same set of auctions, they can have a wider variety of items to choose from!

HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:
(to better help you find the sizes and countries that interest you)

7p0001-7p0008 non-U.S. stills from many countries
7p0009-7p0022 non-U.S. LCs from many countries
7p0023-7p0029 non-U.S. posters from many countries
7p0030-7p0104 French LCs (sets and singles)
7p0105-7p0131 German posters
7p0132-7p0212 Mexican posters
7p0213-7p0333 Australian one-sheets and daybills
7p0334-7p0340 English one-sheets
7p0341-7p1013 folded one-sheets

About the non-U.S. lobby cards
Just about every collector knows that most U.S. theaters stopped using lobby cards in the 1970s or earlier, and that very few U.S. lobby cards were made after that time (and most of the ones that were made were used outside the U.S.).  But a fair number of collectors do not know that the "lobby card format" remained popular in many other countries (and is still popular in the present day).  The main difference between these sets from other countries and those from the U.S. is that they often are printed on thin "poster-like" paper, and of course, most have a foreign language instead of English (although many German lobby card sets have solely English on them, for unknown reasons).  If you are a collector who likes lobby cards, but have not been able to find sets on titles from the 1980s to the present, these non-U.S. lobby cards can be a very attractive alternative (plus, in some cases, they have entirely different scenes, or some different scenes from that of the U.S. lobby cards, assuming that any U.S. lobby cards were made for that title).

About the condition of these items
We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are "good" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

If a poster is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the poster has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order plus $3, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen (you can choose either the U.S. Post Office or UPS (since you are paying it, you can choose the method you prefer). All U.S. orders will be sent fully insured.

NOTE: Our Pay and Hold Program (see below for how this works) allows you to have your purchases sent every TWELVE weeks, which means we will only send you packages four times a year. We urge that all of our customers who plan to buy from future auctions join the Pay and Hold Program, because it really saves you a massive amount on shipping!

Missouri, California, Washington, and Illinois customers: If your order is sent within these states, we MUST collect sales tax, and we will do so automatically (unless you have a Reseller Certificate from your state in which case you need to reply to this email with a copy of that Certificate, so you can be exempted from the sales tax).

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 12 consecutive weeks (a total of 18 auctions and around 24,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

We require "signature required" on all orders over $100, unless the customer accepts responsibility
Neither UPS nor USPS automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so in order for a signature to be required, you need to pay the extra $5.00 for UPS or $2.60 for USPS that they charge for "signature required", and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package at the door, and you may well have to go to the UPS or USPS facility yourself to pick it up if you aren't there to meet the delivery person. We add "signature required" to all orders over $100, because of the drastic rise in "porch thefts" (packages being stolen after they are left off). We WILL allow you to have your package sent without signature required if it is over $100, but only if YOU accept full responsibility if it is stolen after it is left off, and if you agree to not file for a refund from your credit card company or Paypal (because they would take the money from us). We can't accept the responsibility if your package is stolen, so we require full insurance and signature required, unless YOU want that responsibility and say so in writing.

You CAN usually combine shipment!

NOTE: These items need to be sent in flat packages so...
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COMBINING: We will combine bulk lots with other purchases when possible, but because many bulk lots contain lots of items, it is not always possible to combine them; Learn More About Combining).

*they can be combined with these auctions:

Tuesday December 8th bulk lots that ship flat
Thursday December 10th single lobby cards and single stills
Sunday December 27th flat items in Part III of our December Major auction
Thursday January 7th large French & Italian
Sunday January 10th folded one-sheets and folded non-U.S.
Tuesday January 19th some of the bulk lots that ship in flat packages
Sunday January 24th miscellaneous items of all kinds
Tuesday February 2nd window cards, Italian, French, 3sh, 6sh, and similar
Thursday February 4th sets of lobby cards and sets of stills

*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:

Tuesday December 8th bulk lots that do not ship flat
Sunday December 27th rolled items in Part III of our December Major auction
Tuesday January 5th inserts, 1/2-shs, small non-U.S.
Tuesday January 19th the bulk lots that ship rolled in tubes
Thursday January 21st rolled one-sheets, non-U.S, and special posters
Sunday February 7th rolled one-sheets, non-U.S, and special posters

Note that (if you join our Pay and Hold Program) we allow you to wait to have your purchases shipped until a total of twelve auctions have ended so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible; see Learn More About Combining), and that means there is a chance you could combine all those items, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package, but of course, there is a limit to how many items can fit in a single package or tube, and if you end up with several packages, you will need to pay that many shipping charges; Learn More About Combining). Since around half of our auctions have items that ship in tubes and the other half have items that ship in flat packages, and since few of those two types of items can be combined, most of our regular buyers end up with at least two packages after twelve weeks. We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do (and of course, there are others who charge far more!), but none of the ones with lower rates offer the same generous combined shipping we do, and we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $3 for packaging materials)!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $3, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen and a separate printed invoice mailed to you. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 12 consecutive weeks (a total of 18 auctions and around 24,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions (note these are ESTIMATES only, and your actual shipping may vary considerably, and bear in mind that non-U.S. lobby sets weigh much more than single non-U.S. posters)
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance)

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian, Asia,
& Japan
Everywhere Else
(inc Europe)
Priority Mail Int'l - Uninsured $43.19 $51.93 $53.11
Priority Mail Express Int'l - Uninsured $58.05 $70.93 $66.41
First Class* (under 4 lbs ONLY) $22.71 $24.61 $24.38
*First Class has a weight limit of 4 lbs so the maximum number of items that can ship via First Class in a flat package is twenty (20), but bear in mind that is at the maximum weight of 4 lbs which will cost more than the estimates above (the cost to ship 20 items via First Class is approximately $50, depending on where you live).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States?
Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING (but bear in mind that, depending on the state, we might have to then charge U.S. sales tax)! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $3 for packaging materials)!
