Details About These Thursday Items

Why are we auctioning both one-sheets and oversized rolled items in the same set of auctions?
We are doing this because we only had 299 "very oversized" or "oversized" items, which is not enough for its own set of auctions, so we combined them with 700 rolled one-sheets, so that we would have our usual 999 auctions. BUT THIS IS LIKE THREE AUCTIONS IN ONE! The 700 rolled one-sheets have a flat $12 U.S. shipping fee, and the other 299 items are all the actual cost of shipping, even in the U.S. (see below).

About the 299 "very oversized" or "oversized" items contains many items you might see in a "major" auction
The first 299 items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions need to be shipped either in tubes over 30" (most much longer) or in very large flat packages or boxes. But included among them are a LOT of items you might expect to see in a major auction! There are many items you may well not see again for sale or auction for many years to come, and there is an amazing variety of all sorts of items, covering all years, sizes, and genres, so be sure to look through all of these items (in addition to looking at the chart below). If you miss some of these items, you may never again get a chance at them! However, please bear in mind that many of these items have some condition issues. All can be restored, but bear that added expense in mind before placing a bid. Of course, you might prefer to wait for a better example of that item to come along, but some of these items only come along once every decade or two, so it could be a very long wait!

HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:
(to better help you find the sizes and countries that interest you)

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE "THREE-DIMENSIONAL" ITEMS THAT SHIP IN BOXES FOR THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING, AND THEY PROBABLY AREN'T SAFE TO COMBINE WITH ANY OTHER ITEMS:

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHIP IN REALLY LARGE FLAT PACKAGES FOR THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING:
1z018-1z046 three-sheet, inserts, lenticular one-sheets, subway, standees, mobiles, 24-sheets

About the shipping of the current 299 "very oversized" or "oversized" items
All of the non-one-sheet items we are currently auctioning are "very oversized" or "oversized", meaning that they can't be sent in our tubes that measure 30" or shorter OR that they are three-dimensional and ship in boxes OR ship in large flat packages. This means that, this week only, we will combine shipments of items that are safe to combine (but if you win items of different types that ship in more than one package, you will be charged for more than one package), and remember that if you win items marked as "actual cost of shipping", then you will be charged the actual cost of shipping instead of the flat rate shipping.
It should be pretty simple to tell which items can ship for the flat rate and which ship for the actual cost of shipping (it is noted on each individual auction page and in the chart above). Either way, you may have to pay a greater amount for shipping than normal (especially if you live outside the U.S.). Because we are selling many different sizes of items (many "oversized"), our shipping estimate charts below for non-U.S. buyers are only of limited use (and the actual cost can vary drastically from the chart, so PLEASE do not think that you can rely on them!), due to the wide variance of the size of packages, so if knowing the actual shipping cost is important to you before you bid, please contact us with the item or items, along with where you live.

About the condition
We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are "good" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

U.S. Shipping Details

THIS WEEK ONLY, all buyers (U.S. AND non-U.S.) must pay the actual cost of sending your order, plus $3 for the packaging materials (NOTE: If you solely win rolled one-sheets, then those qualify for our flat rate $12 U.S. shipping). After winning, you need to request a shipping quote through our Checkout system. Learn the exact details of flat rate shipping

Why don't we have a "flat rate" for some U.S. orders this week, like we do most weeks (except as noted in the chart above)? Because, along with one-sheets, we are selling "very oversized" or "oversized" posters of all shapes and sizes, some of which must be sent in our custom-made extra heavy duty gorilla proof mailing tubes or packages, shipping will vary greatly depending on how many items you get, what the weight of the posters are, if they fit in the same tube, and where you live. Generally it will cost $35 at the very least to send an oversized tube package anywhere in the U.S. by either U.S. mail or UPS, fully insured (all U.S. orders MUST be fully insured).

Can we send your order in a less expensive way? We have purchased movie paper items many hundreds of times over the Internet ourselves, and we have seen the tubes and oversized flat packages that other sellers use (both the free kind and the kind purchased at shipping supply stores), and the protection offered by those tubes is spotty at best (those cheaper tubes will often get bent resulting in creasing or tearing to the poster, or in extreme cases, a tube can even lose a cap from an end resulting in the buyer receiving a tube but no posters!), so please do not ask us to use a lighter weight tube or oversized flat package or less expensive packing materials to save on shipping, because we won't do it! We know that once you see our tubes and oversized flat packages you will agree that they are a great investment in protecting your purchase(s) and you will wonder why other sellers of vintage movie paper do not use these same tubes and oversized flat packages (and if somehow you don't agree with us, we ask you not to bid at all!).

Do you need "signature required"?
Neither UPS nor USPS automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $4.25 for UPS or $2.45 for USPS that they charge for "signature required", and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package at the door, and you may well have to go to the UPS or USPS facility yourself to pick it up if you aren't there to meet the delivery person. But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED (unless your package has a dollar value over $300, in which case we will always send it with signature required, unless you specifically tell us not to, and accept responsibility for the package if it is stolen from your porch or lobby)!

You CAN usually combine shipment!

NOTE: These Thursday items need to be sent either rolled in standard tubes OR rolled in oversized tubes OR in large flat packages OR in boxes so...
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COMBINING: Flat rate shipping is good for 3 weeks worth of purchases (assuming all the items fit into a single package; Learn More About Combining). If you win items over a span of more than 21 days, you will then be charged the actual cost of shipping plus $3 for packing materials.

*Most "flat" items MIGHT be combined with these auctions and we will combine them automatically if there is no chance of damage to any of them items you win:

Sunday October 15th
single 8x10 stills
Tuesday October 17th folded one-sheets
Thursday October 19th complete and incomplete lobby card sets
Sunday October 22nd programs, 11x14s, presskits, and more
Tuesday October 24th concert posters, WCs, Italian, and more
Thursday October 26th single lobby cards
Sunday October 29th groups of 2 or more stills from the same film
Thursday November 2nd "flat" items only in Halloween Part I
Sunday November 5th "flat" items in Halloween Part II

*Most "rolled" items can be combined with these auctions and we will combine them automatically if there is no chance of damage to any of them items you win:

Sunday October 8th rolled special posters
Tuesday October 10th rolled non-U.S. posters
Tuesday October 31st rolled non-U.S. posters
Thursday November 2nd "rolled" items in Halloween Part I
Tuesday November 7th "rolled" items in Halloween Part III

*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:

Thursday November 2nd "linen" items in Halloween Part I

Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items (even if you get 100 or more, but solely from a single set!), but we also allow you to wait until the next three weeks of auctions end (a total of up to nine sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible; see Learn More About Combining), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to nine of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package, but of course, there is a limit to how many items can fit in a single package or tube, and if you end up with several packages, you will need to pay that many shipping charges; Learn More About Combining). Since around half of our auctions have items that ship in tubes and the other half have items that ship in flat packages, and since few of those items can be combined, most of our regular buyers end up with at least two packages after three weeks. We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do (and of course, there are others who charge far more!), but none of the ones with lower rates offer the same generous flat rate shipping we do, and we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

AS STATED IN THE CHART ABOVE, DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE COST OF U.S. SHIPPING PLUS $3 FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (and on a week like this, when we use very large tubes or packages, the $3 usually does not come close to covering the cost of those materials). OF COURSE, THE ONE-SHEETS CAN BE SHIPPED FOR $12 WITHIN THE U.S. IF YOU SOLELY WIN ONE-SHEETS. MANY OF THE ITEMS WE ARE CURRENTLY AUCTIONING WILL COST A HIGH AMOUNT TO SEND, SO BEAR THIS ADDED COST IN MIND BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THOSE ITEMS!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer), plus $3 for packaging materials. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order. KNOW THAT IT IS USUALLY MORE EXPENSIVE (SOMETIMES MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE) TO SEND THESE OVERSIZED ITEMS OUTSIDE THE U.S., AND THE BELOW CHARTS ARE ONLY A VERY ROUGH GUIDE TO THE ACTUAL COSTS. We do not make a penny on the shipping (because we charge the actual cost), BUT PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THE SUBSTANTIAL ADDED SHIPPING COSTS BEFORE YOU PLACE A BID ON THESE ITEMS!

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 6 consecutive weeks (a total of 18 auctions and around 15,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money!  Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our non-U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

Learn more about how to save money on shipping by shipping to friends/family in the U.S., insurance, and customs fees.

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 ROLLED ONE-SHEETS from this set of  auctions. NOTE: These are ESTIMATES only; actual shipping may cost more or less.
THESE ESTIMATES ARE SOLELY FOR ROLLED ONE-SHEETS. LARGER ROLLED ITEMS CAN COST SUBSTANTIALLY MORE TO SHIP (those items are noted in the chart above and on the actual auctions), IN MANY CASES $100 TO $200 PER PACKAGE, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THOSE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY THE HIGHER ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING!

ALSO NOTE:
Insurance will increase the cost of shipping by approximately $1.60 for each $100 of insurance.

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian/Asia/Japan Everywhere Else (inc Europe)
Priority Mail Int'l - Uninsured

$46.56

$55.01 $57.15
Priority Mail Express Int'l - Uninsured $61.66 $75.91 $70.45

First Class* (under 4 lbs ONLY)

$33.16 $35.06 $35.78
*First Class has a weight limit of 4 lbs AND a dimensional limit. Posters wider than 28 inches (or 71 cm) can NOT be shipped via First Class.

Also, the maximum number of posters that can ship via First Class in a tube is eight (8), but bear in mind that is at the maximum weight of 4 lbs which will cost more than the estimates above (the cost to ship 8 posters via First Class is approximately $50, depending on where you live).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

AS STATED IN THE CHART ABOVE, DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE COST OF . SHIPPING PLUS $3 FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (and on a week like this, when we use very large tubes, the $3 usually does not come close to covering the cost of those materials). MANY OF THE ITEMS WE ARE CURRENTLY AUCTIONING WILL COST A HIGH AMOUNT TO SEND, SO BEAR THIS ADDED COST IN MIND BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THOSE ITEMS!
