How are these Sunday auctions different from our Tuesday and Thursday auctions?
      The short answer is that they are almost exactly like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions, but with one important difference. This is that they do NOT end at 7 PM CST like those other auctions do, but instead they begin ending at 3 PM CST, which means that our European bidders will not have to get up in the middle of the night to bid at the end of our auctions (and of course, most of our American bidders will not be working on Sundays, so they will have easy access to their computers as well).

Where are the many bulk lots regularly offered on Sunday?
      We were just so busy this week with the two parts of our Winter 2010 Special Non-U.S. Mini/Major Auction that we couldn't prepare our usual assortment of 15 to 30 bulk lots, but to make up for it, we have a really wonder assortment of super-early glass slides, PLUS some amazing German programs that were used in Germany after World War II, but BEFORE West Germany was created!  Know that we have a HUGE number of items waiting to be auctioned in bulk lots, so please know that they will return soon, and almost every week thereafter.

About the collection of glass slides we are auctioning this Sunday
     Since we started the Sunday auctions, we have been auctioning an amazing collection of glass slides, but the ones we are auctioning this week are the most amazing of all!  They are all the kind that have black tape around the edges, rather than cardboard holders, and they include many of the earliest glass slides we have ever seen, including a group of Paramount ones that go back to 1914, and are from before Paramount Pictures was a studio, and was simply "the Paramount Program"!  Also included are two incredible slides from two of John Barrymore's earliest great successes, Sherlock Holmes, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (when have you ever seen any original items from either of these movies, except in mega-auctions, and they sell for mega-dollars)!

About the German Filmpost Programms we are auctioning this Sunday
     Since we started the Sunday auctions, we have been auctioning an amazing collection of German programs, but the ones we are auctioning this week are a different type than the ones we have been auctioning, and these are called "Filmpost Programm". This program was published in Germany solely from immediately after World War II, in 1945 (before Germany was separated into two parts, and at the time when there were a huge number of U.S. troops there), and apparently ceased publication in 1949, and it appears that one of these were created for many movies that played in Germany during those years (perhaps just ones that played in theaters for G.I.s)! We do not think that these programs were used at "regular" German theaters, and in fact, we think that these showings pre-date the official German release of many of these movies (which occurred after West Germany was created).
     They all measure 5" x 10 1/4" when tri-folded (as it was intended), and they contain 6 "pages", and when unfolded they measure 10 1/4" x 15", with information and images on both sides, and all are a single color. They often have montages of photographic images, some of which do not seem to appear on any U.S. advertising. They are apparently quite scarce, especially on "better" titles, and represent an affordable way to purchase an original release item from a specific movie.
     The collector who assembled these Filmpost Programms was able to find approximately half of the ones that were created, and they all date from 1945 to 1949.  We have divided them into TWO groups (we initially divided them into three groups, but we ended up making two groups instead), and this week we auction the latest of them, the ones from 1947 to 1949, and next week we auction the ones from 1945 to 1947, and then there are no more of these remarkable "programms"!

About the Condition
     Note that we give an overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few graded "poor") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much only if they are defects that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the item for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

    If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

If you like to pay via Paypal (our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"), that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

If it is your best payment option, you can pay by Western Union (unlike SOME auction sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. buyers need to enclose $10 shipping (which includes full insurance)! 
     Missouri customers: You must pay an additional 7.162% sales tax on your purchases.  If your order is sent within the state of Missouri, we MUST collect this tax (if it is shipped to another state, we do not collect the tax).

Will your order be shipped to you by UPS?
     UPS does NOT automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it up.  But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.  IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!

You CAN usually combine shipment!

Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next five sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

     IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
    Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States?
Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.
