Incredible Bonus Offer!

PLUS YOU GET "More Cowboy Movie Posters" AS A BONUS THIS WEEK!

"Crazy Bruce Hershenson" says, "We are currently auctioning 699 single lobby cards, and I thought I would offer each buyer this week our full-color More Cowboy Movie Posters movie poster book as an added bonus!"  This collection contains 335 full-color illustrations of cowboy movie posters spread over 84 pages. Amazingly, it contains NO duplications from our best-selling previous volume, Cowboy Movie Posters, which is sold out. There are ten full-page images, and there is a greater emphasis on the great stars of the 1940s, such as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and Hoppy, although like the previous volume it spans all the years from early silents to the present day. We offer every one of our buyers this week a copy of this great book, More Cowboy Movie Posters as a bonus, even if you just buy one $1 item!  If you don't already own this great book (or maybe even if you do!), then you should find any one of our hundreds of items to buy, just to get the bonus book!  You may get More Cowboy Movie Posters AND this item for as little as $1 plus shipping (if you are the only bidder)!

Special Notes About This Thursday's Items

About the Condition
Note that we have many excellent condition, unrestored lobby cards this week.  Most of these come to us from several very long time collectors who were "condition conscious", and who tried to buy unrestored lobby cards whenever possible!  81% of the cards in this auction are completely unrestored, and approximately 50% of the cards in this auction are both "high grade" (either "fine" or "very good to fine", and OUR high grade cards are graded very strictly!), and also completely unrestored!

Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and "good", with only a few graded "fair") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much only if they are defects that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the item for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

Please remember that our grading system is FAR more harsh than any other dealer we know of! We feel certain that our "very good to fine" condition grade compares favorably to most dealers' "near mint" grade and our "fine" condition grade compares favorably to most dealers' "mint" grade!

We did not describe most of the tiny defects these cards have in words (unless they are on the back or are the sort that can't be seen in a digital image), so we strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see whatever tiny defects any of these cards may have.

IMPORTANT! There are constant rumors that "slabbing" of lobby cards is "just around the corner". Slabbing is encasing items in a hard plastic sleeve with a seal that can't be broken, and then the items are professionally graded. ANY restoration of any kind, as well as a detailed condition description is noted on the back of the sleeve. Proponents of slabbing say that it takes all the guesswork out of grading items, and it brings lots of new collectors into a hobby, who are no longer afraid of buying an over-graded item, or one with hidden restoration. It is indisputable that slabbing attracts a lot of "investors" into a hobby, and almost always slabbing of items is followed by a sharp rise in the price of "high grade" UNRESTORED items. If the people who currently "slab" other collectibles begin to do so with lobby cards, then it is very likely prices will rise on them as well.  The above is why we clearly identify which lobby cards are completely unrestored (and in this context, "unrestored" means no restoration of any kind, including tape, on either the front or the back of the card).

If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

If you like to pay via PayPal
(our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"), that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

You can send a check or money order (if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775

If it is your best payment option, you can pay by Western Union (unlike SOME auction sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers need to enclose $10 shipping (which includes full insurance)!
Missouri customers: You must pay an additional 7.162% sales tax on your purchases.  If your order is sent within the state of Missouri, we MUST collect this tax (if it is shipped to another state, we do not collect the tax).

Will your order be shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it up.  But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.
IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!

You CAN usually combine shipment!
NOTE: These Thursday items need to be sent in flat packages so...

*they can be combined with these auctions:

  • Tuesday April 20th three-sheets, six-sheets, British quads, & Argentinean posters (these ship for $12 U.S. shipping)
  • Thursday April 22nd window cards and miscellaneous very oversized items (these ship for $14 U.S. shipping)
  • Sunday April 25th movie magazines, exhibitor magazines, scripts, glass slides, German programs
  • Thursday April 29th single stills
  • Sunday May 2nd multiple stills
  • Sunday May 9th miscellaneous items
  • Tuesday May 11th folded one-sheets

*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:

  • Sunday bulk lots from April 25th
  • Tuesday April 27th rolled non-U.S. posters
  • Tuesday May 4th Spring 2010 Mini/Major Auction Part I (linenbacked posters)
  • Thursday May 6th Spring 2010 Mini/Major Auction Part II (oversized linenbacked posters and non-backed posters); NOTE: There are a few items in this auction such as lobby cards and window cards (and a few folded items) that CAN be combined, but realize that you would then have to pay the actual cost of shipping from those auctions

Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next five sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $10 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 4 consecutive weeks (a total of 12 auctions and around 8,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money!  Click HERE to learn more (if you are not one of the hundreds of our non-U.S. buyers who are already part of this program)

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions (note these are ESTIMATES only, and your actual shipping may vary considerably)
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance)

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian/Asia/Japan Everywhere Else (inc Europe)
Airmail - Uninsured $21.71 / $22.61 $29.79 $30.26
Airmail - Insured $23.61 / N/A $32.99 $33.46
Global Express - Insured $34.72 / N/A $38.05 $38.74
Global Express - Uninsured $32.82 / $32.59 $35.35 $36.04
First Class $9.95 / $14.90 $17.92 $17.92

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States?
Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!

You Can Add More to Your Order
In addition to our current auctions, we offer many other non-auction items. Please note that the items in this week's auction will be sent in flat packages, so you can add any item that can also be sent in flat packages for no additional shipping costs. We have noted below whether the items can be shipped rolled or not.
