There are some "missing" images in our Auction History and the following explains the various reasons why. In the 1990s, we published books and auction catalogs, and all of the images that appear in those publications are represented in our Auction History. However, we also sold several thousand items through mailed sales lists. Those sales appear in our Auction History, but the images for them do not as they never existed in a digital format. Additionally, when we first began to auction through eBay in 1999 and through 2004, we didn't foresee the need to save those images in an easily accessible format. So essentially, those images became orphaned from our sales information. Then in late 2004, we saw the error of our ways and started saving the images with the sales information.

    Flash forward to 2011 when we released our "Auction History" feature. You will find that most pre-2005 results do not have images associated with them for the reasons outlined above. We will eventually be able to add in a small percentage of those images, but it is a LOT of work to sift through the images that aren't "linked" to our sales information, so many of those missing images will always be missing.

    Finally, know that we have a way to filter out results with missing images (in case you are solely interested in seeing images). This option is called "Filter out results with missing images? Missing Images Filter (Off)" and appears in the Auction History just below the sort options.
