The Basics
All non-U.S. customers need to pay the actual cost of sending your order, plus $5, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen.
If you have already won in our auctions, you need to request a shipping quote (if you purchased from our Fixed Price store, our Checkout will have already directed you to request your shipping quote). We then pack your order, calculate your options for the actual cost of shipping, and then we email you that your quotes are ready in our checkout where you can then complete your order using a credit card or with PayPal. If you wish to pay with a different method (such as a U.S. check or money order or via Western Union or bank transfer), reply to our emails to let us know that.
Important Info About Insurance and Customs Duties
We will ask you if you want your order insured. Here are the differences:
If anything happens to your package, it is protected by the insurance. A claim could be filed with the postal carrier in the event items are lost or damage.
NOTE: The carrier will want to keep your damaged items if you file a claim.
Customs: It seems that it is more likely that you will be charged customs duties on your purchases if they are sent insured (but uninsured packages can incur the same fees). These fees (which may also include VAT fees) are charged by your country, and we have no control over whether it is charged or not, and you the buyer are responsible for paying any fees charged.
If anything happens to your package, it will be your responsibility. Because we pack so well, only a few packages to countries like Singapore and Thailand have been "lost" over the years, but it is impossible to predict when it might happen again. If this happens to your package, you would have no recourse, because you did not choose to have the package insured.
Customs: It appears that you are less likely to be charged customs duties (but sometimes it will still happen to uninsured packages), and remember the small risk of loss or damage to uninsured packages will be entirely YOUR risk.
Save a great deal using our "Pay and Hold Program"
Our "Pay and Hold Program" will save you a lot of money on shipping by allowing you to pay for purchases over a long time frame (up to 16 weeks). Note that these ranges are the maximum time frame, but you can stop & request shipping at any time (but if you do so, we won't later add more purchases) and then have them combined into as few packages as possible for a lower overall shipping fee. Here is how it works:
- Enroll by sending us an email or telling us on the phone
- Pay the winning bid amounts for your purchase(s) within one week
- Continue bidding and paying for purchases for UP TO SIXTEEN WEEKS.
NOTE: We will automatically add Fixed Price store purchases to your Pay and Hold unless you tell us otherwise. - At any point during that time, you can request a shipping quote and then we will pack up your order and email shipping quotes to you (after the maximum time frame, we will automatically quote it for you)
- You need to pay us for that shipping within one week of receiving the email
- We ship all your Pay and Hold purchases, and the process can begin again!
Now this of course creates a LOT of extra work for us, but look at the great benefits! You are able to wait up to SIXTEEN weeks to have us ship items to you, and since we have THREE auctions every other week, you will be able to combine your purchases from a total of 12 auctions and around 16,000+ items before they are sent (as well as with our Fixed Price store items)! Of course we may still have to send two or more packages to you (if you purchased both "rolled" and "flat" items during that time, or if you purchased a LOT of items), but this "Pay and Hold" will surely save you LOTS of money in shipping costs (and we will gladly maintain two different Pay and Hold orders for you, one for rolled items, and one for flat items).
We know this results in a great decrease in shipping costs and hundreds of our customers have already taken advantage of this!
