eMoviePoster.comCool Item Of the Week: If Winter Comes pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Week Archive Added: 04/06/2015 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! So below is the pressbook from If Winter Comes, the 1923 Harry F. Millarde silent World War I (WWI) England romantic melodrama ("Mightier than the Book, The picture all the world is waiting for, William Fox presents the motion picture version of A.S.M. Hutchinson's novel, 'If Winter Comes', 'mightier than the book'"; about an Englishman, played by Percy Marmont, who is unhappily married, and he spends decades dealing with many tragedies, including several deaths, but after many trials and tribulations, he gets to end his days with his true love, Lady Tybar, played by Ann Forrest) starring Percy Marmont, Arthur Metcalfe, Sidney Herbert, Wallace Kolb, Ann Forrest, and Leslie King (as "Humpo"; King suffered from diseases that resulted in physical disfigurement, and he was exploited by studios from 1916 to 1932, and he is likely best remembered for his final role in "The Horror" in 1932; his career was similar to that of Rondo Hatton some years later) Here is an image of the pressbook's covers and an interior spread: Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 20,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!). And remember to check out our previous Cool Items of the Week in our Cool Item of the Week archive (which is fully searchable!).
