Cool Item Of the Week: Atom Man vs Superman pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Week Archive Added: 03/14/2011 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook covers for Atom Man vs Superman, the 1950 Spencer Gordon Bennet comic book superhero serial (based on the famous DC Comics comic book character; "Based on the SUPERMAN adventure feature appearing in SUPERMAN and ACTION COMICS magazines coast to coast. Adapted from the SUPERMAN radio program.") starring Kirk Alyn (as Superman/Clark Kent), Noel Neill (who later repeated her role as Lois Lane in the TV show, after Phyllis Coates left the show), Lyle Talbot (as Lex Luther), Tommy Bond (as Jimmy Olsen), and Pierre Watkin (as Perry White). Note that this was the second Superman serial (the first was called "Superman" and came out two years earlier with the same cast in the lead roles). Posters, lobby cards, or stills on this movie are rarely offered for sale!
