eMoviePoster.comThis Week's Cool Item: Bowery to Broadway pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Week Archive Added: 09/28/2020 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you this week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from Bowery to Broadway, the 1944 Charles Lamont New York City theater stage acting romantic musical ("To fill your eyes... To thrill your heart.."; "Manhattan's most memorable musical!"; "Screen Play by Edmund Joseph, Bart Lytton, and Arthur T. Horman"; "Original Story by Edmund Joseph and Bart Lytton") starring Maria Montez, Susanna Foster, Jack Oakie, Turhan Bey, Louise Allbritton, Frank McHugh, Ann Blyth, Donald Cook, Leo Carrillo, Andy Devine, Evelyn Ankers, Rosemary DeCamp, Thomas Gomez, Richard Lane, Donald O'Connor, Peggy Ryan, George Dolenz, and Mantan Moreland. Here is an image of the pressbook's covers and an interior two-page spread: As part of our bi-weekly club email, I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 20,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!). And remember to check out our previous Cool Items in our Cool Item of the Week archive (which is fully searchable!).
