Cool Item Of the Week: No Way Out pressbook

Return to Cool Item of the Month Archive
Added: 11/20/2017

As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES!

This week, I have the pressbook from No Way Out, the 1950 Joseph L. Mankiewicz race relations crime film noir ("Is it a question... Or an answer"; "an entertainment with a great courageous theme reaching to new heights of screen dynamics with seven new conceptions of dramatic portrayal"; "Don't miss it!"; "All colored cast"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck and Written by Joseph L. Mankiewicz & Lesser Samuels) starring Richard Widmark, Linda Darnell, Stephen McNally, Sidney Poitier (in his first major film), Mildred Joanne Smith (in her sole appearance, as Poitier's wife), Harry Bellaver, Stanley Ridges, and Dots Johnson

Here is an image of the front cover, back cover, and two interior poster pages:

Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 25,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!).
