Cool Item Of the Week: Many Happy Returns pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 07/03/2017 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from Many Happy Returns, the 1934 Norman Z. McLeod romantic marriage wedding musical screwball comedy ("Papa didn't give the bride away... he paid to get rid of her!") starring Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians (the popular bandleader of the 1930s who became famous for his yearly rendition of "Auld Lang Sang" every New Year's Eve, as himself in a cameo role), George Burns, Gracie Allen, George Barbier, Joan Marsh, and Franklin Pangborn. Note that this was a screwball comedy starring Burns & Allen, then super popular on the radio. The movie included musical numbers from Guy Lombardo and dance routines by Veloz and Yolanda. Oddly, Lombardo was given top billing on the movie paper! Here is an image of the front cover and back poster
