Whenever we notice that an item last sold for a very high price, we note that on the current auction for another example of that item, to alert bidders that they MAY well be able to get a great deal on the current example, sometimes buying it for HALF or less than it last sold for!

BUT THAT IS ONLY PART OF THE SAVINGS! There has been substantial inflation the world over the past 10, 20, and 30 years (and it is surely far more than governments admit to, because they have a vested interest in pretending inflation is less than it actually is).

So say you an item in our December Major Auction next week and it costs you $1,000, and you see on the auction that the last time we auctioned a different example in 2015, it sold for $1,500. So you might say, I won it for two-thirds of the price the last person paid and that is true, but only in strict dollar amounts.

If you go to this page at https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/ (one of many "inflation calculators" on the Internet) and you enter the dates and totals (so in this case, you enter two dates and the dollar amount) then you get "If in 2015 I purchased an items for $1,500, then in 2025 that same item would cost $2,055.55"!

This means when you buy that item NOW for $1,000, you actually bought it for HALF of what that other person paid in terms of inflation adjusted dollars!

So please bear the inflation in mind when you bid on any of our items, where we note what another example of the item last sold for (and remember you can also always check that for yourself in our great Auction History at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archive.html which contains our over TWO MILLION PAST SALES (with images) and which is VASTLY superior to ANY other site's similar auction history!
