Les Quatre Cents Coups (released in the U.S. as "Francois Truffaut's The Four Hundred Blows"), the classic 1959 Francois Truffaut French New Wave semi-autobiographical troubled teen family relationship coming-of-age melodrama ("Angel Faces hell-bent for violence"; based on Truffaut's troubled childhood in France; Leaud played him as a young boy in this movie and went on to portray him in four other Truffaut movies!) starring Jean-Pierre Leaud, Claire Maurier, Albert Remy, Guy Decomble, Georges Flamant, and Patrick Auffay (as Rene)

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this style of one-sheet for this classic French movie! Obviously, this one was prepared after the movie received incredible reviews after its opening in 1959 (and the poster is dated 1959), and those were added to the poster, although the image is also completely different from that on the non-reviews poster. We wonder if the U.S. distributor had any idea that they were distributing one of the most classic movies of all time!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top two crossfolds, with some separation and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. It had two tiny areas of paper loss in the left blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
