Entr'aide Francaise (literally translates to "French Mutual Aid"), the circa 1946 French poster (with taglines that translates to "Fresh air crusade. For our holidays, buy our surprise envelopes in June") encouraging people to support the efforts to send children to summer camps, and featuring Bernard Villemot artwork of two children enjoying the outdoors

Artist: Bernard Villemot
Important Added Info: Note that French posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in France, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare French poster from 1946, which we have never auctioned before!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds. There was also darkening on the folds and in the borders, and there was ink transfer and smudges scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did very little restoration to the defects described above.
