18 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

West Side Story, the classic 1961 Robert Wise & Jerome Robbins (winners of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) New York City romantic dance musical ("The screen achieves one of the great entertainments in the history of motion pictures"; "'Best Picture' Winner of 10 Academy Awards 1961"; "Based upon the stage play produced by Robert E. Griffith and Harold S. Prince" winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; with a sentimental script by Ernest Lehman, which borrows heavily from "Romeo & Juliet"; based on a book by Arthur Laurents) starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, Rita Moreno (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), and George Chakiris (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). The wonderful music was by Leonard Bernstein and the equally wonderful lyrics were by Stephen Sondheim. Note that Natalie Wood's singing was dubbed by Marni Nixon (who had also dubbed The King and I and The Sound of Music), and Richard Beymer's singing was dubbed as well. Recordings exist of some of Natalie Wood's singing, and she absolutely would have been fine, but Hollywood demands perfection!

Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THIS LOT CONTAINS 18 STILLS, BUT ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 18 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE, and NOT just the eight pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best eight stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills.

Note that on our larger lots of black and white stills (usually ones with nine or more in the lot), there are a small number of lots where there may be one or several duplicated stills in the stills not pictured (we only picture eight of the stills on most of the black and white lots). We tried to note when some of the stills not pictured were duplicates to the ones that were pictured, but we may not have caught that every time, so please do not bid on the lots of nine or more stills unless you can accept the possibility that there may be some duplicated stills contained in the lot (there also may be a very few of the lots with eight or less stills that have a duplicate in them, but that is far less likely and you could see them in our photo).

Condition: good to very good. There are several pin holes around the edges of the stills with some repaired with tape from the back. There are some creases and scuff marks scattered throughout the stills (mostly around the edges).
