Great Guy (released in England as "Pluck of the Irish"), the 1936 John G. Blystone crime thriller ("It's tops in Cagney entertainment"; "James Cagney at his best!"; "From the Johnny Cave Stories in the Saturday Evening Post by James Edward Grant"; about the "New York Department of Weights and Measures", which was in charge of making sure the public didn't get cheated on the weight of goods; Cagney is the brash new head of it, who gets the job after the old head is hospitalized for not "playing ball"; Cagney takes on everyone: the crooks who cheat the public, and the crooked politicians who take bribes to let them do it!) starring James Cagney, Mae Clarke, James Burke, Edward Brophy, and Henry Kolker

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good to very good. The poster is linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had tape on the back of the center foldline and some pieces of tape around the edges of the poster where there were smudges, stains, tears, and areas of paper loss. There were some small vertical tears in the bottom foldline and a 2" tear to the right of Cagney's mouth. A really talented restorer repaired these defects and most of the restoration can only be seen on the closest inspection (except for the repaired tear in Cagney's cheek which is somewhat noticeable). I would think most collectors would be quite happy to display this poster on their wall!
