An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) The Singing Cowgirl, the 1939 Samuel Diege female cowgirl cowboy western starring Dorothy Page, Dave 'Tex' O'Brien (billed as "David O'Brien"), Vince Barnett, Warner Richmond, and Dorothy Short. Dorothy Page had a very interesting background! She married a doctor in 1925 when she was 21, and in the early 1930s, they were struggling, and she auditioned for Paul Whiteman, and became a singer with his band. In 1935, she was signed by Universal and appeared in two movies, but they dropped her. In 1937, Grand National, which was on the verge of bankruptcy after their disastrous loss on Something to Sing About, signed her to become "The Singing Cowgirl", and they made four movies with her over two years, but those did not do well, and the series was killed. She had several marriages and personal misfortunes, and she passed away in 1961 at the age of 57. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Kulz Condition: very good. The poster had creases, tears, and some tiny paper loss on parts of some foldlines, and some small paper loss at some crossfolds. There were just a few minor border defects.
