An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) You Can't Cheat an Honest Man, the classic 1939 Edward F. Cline & George Marshall family relationship romantic circus screwball comedy ("Original Story by Charles Bogle", which was one of Fields' many pseudonyms!) starring W.C. Fields, Edgar Bergen, Charlie McCarthy, Mortimer Snerd (billed as "Mortimer"), Constance Moore, Mary Forbes, Thurston Hall, Princess Baba (as herself), John Arledge, Charles Coleman, Edward Brophy, Arthur Hohl, Blacaman, and Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson. Note that Charlie McCarthy was Edgar Bergen's ventriloquist dummy, but in the movie he is treated as though he is a human boy, and there is almost no reference to Bergen talking "for" McCarthy! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. There are four areas of water staining across the top border of the card. Three are solely in the blank border, and the one at far right extends into the background area. There are three areas of staining in the bottom border. They extend upward into the middle of the image, but they are really not noticeable in the image area, although they are noticeable in the title and credits area. Other than the above defect, the card is in nice condition. While the water staining is not very distracting, and I could imagine many collectors displaying this card just as it is, it is also true that it is very likely that a restorer could remove most of the light stains through chemical means, after which the card would look great and it might not require virtually any paint restoration!
