Important Added Info: Note that this is a wonderful special presskit! Why? Because it was prepared and sent prior to the release of the movie in May of 1977. We know this because it has the first version of the Star Wars logo on the cover, which was used on the earliest promotional material, but was never used once the movie opened. It contains 37 stills, but more importantly, it contains an incredible 45 supplements, each with multiple pages, and all are from Bob Dingilian, Director of National Publicity at Fox. We previously have had two less complete versions of this wonderful presskit (most recently in our special December Major Auction), and those came to us from a man who worked for 20th Century-Fox in the 1970s, and the first one (which contained 11 stills and 2 supplements) auctioned in 2014 for $470 and the one (which contained 21 stills and 2 supplements) in December of 2015 auctioned for $1,705! Now, we have a FAR more complete version of this wonderful presskit, which contains 37 stills and am amazing 45 supplements, which is likely ALL the supplements that were prepared! We have pictured all 37 stills, and the fronts of 8 of the 45 supplements. One of the supplements says "The future should look used" and gives much information about the local filming of the movie. Another says "George Lucas brings his space fantasy to life", and it describes George Lucas' inspiration and vision for Star Wars, including, of course, how it came from his love of movie serials and comic books, and that he wanted "an action movie in outer space", "characters with ray guns, running around in space ships and shooting at each other". It mentions that he co-owns a gallery bookstore in New York City which deals in newspaper strips, original art, and comic related books (which was called "Supersnipe")! The other 43 supplements cover a variety of different subjects, including biographies of all the top actors, information about what the actors have done in the year since they first started working on the project, and much, much more, including an 8-page "production information guide", which has a yellow cover sheet. This is a rare and wonderful find, and it is going to be one of the prizes in this Star Wars collection of the winning bidder of this auction!

Condition: very good to fine. The folder has scuffing in the black background areas of the covers and some creases around the edges. The 37 stills are in wonderful condition, as are all of the 45 supplements (see our images).
