An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 41" [70 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

His Home Over There, the circa 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("More than 2000 such homes for our boys"; "United War Work Campaign, November 11th - 18th"; "YMCA"; "YWCA") encouraging people to contribute to the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association), which, to support the war efforts, had converted more than 2,000 French homes into YMCA shelters for service men, and featuring Albert Herter art of several servicemen approaching a warmly lit YMCA building. There was a similar campaign by the YWCA where they helped "the Women of France", and there is a different poster for that campaign
Artist: Albert Herter
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have only auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note that this is one of seventeen wonderful World War I posters we were consigned, which we are auctioning in separate auctions. All of them are extremely fragile and in urgent need of restoration, but all of them CAN be "rescued", and after proper restoration they will display wonderfully (and many of them are incredibly rare). Please read our condition description below and look at our super-sized image before bidding on any of these great posters!

Condition: good. There are small tears along portions of the edges with two areas of paper loss in the left border, only slightly affecting the edge of the image. There are light ripples scattered throughout and a few stains. After a relatively simple linenbacking the poster will look great, and it will require almost no paint restoration!
