An Original 1972 (from the first release of this movie in the U.K.) Vintage Theatrical Folded English One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Harold and Maude, the classic 1971 Hal Ashby romantic black comedy (about a depressed, death-obsessed 20-year-old man-child who spends his free time attending funerals and staging fake suicides in front of his mother, and meets a joyous 79 year old woman who helps him learn to enjoy life) starring Ruth Gordon (in the title role as Maude), Bud Cort (in the title role as Harold), Vivian Pickles, Cyril Cusack, Charles Tyner, Ellen Geer, and Eric Christmas. Note that this film features a memorable soundtrack by Cat Stevens!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that just about every collector agrees that this poster has the best poster design for this classic black comedy. The same art was used on the British quad, but for that poster it was black and white. It was also used for some non-U.S. countries in black and white or color, but this is the only poster that has the color art and all English text on it, making it extremely desirable for collectors!

Condition: good. The poster has been diagonally clipped in each corner. It has separation in the ends of the horizontal and vertical folds and the crossfolds, and most of those areas are backed by conservation tape, except the lower vertical foldline edge has an older tape repair (see our image). Some areas of the artwork have slightly unevenly darkened. There are some pinholes around the edges and the vertical foldline. Several of the defects affect only blank paper, and certainly after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
