An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 22 1/4" x 30 1/2" [57 x 77 cm]) (Learn More) Matka Joanna od Aniolow (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "Joan of the Angels", and released in other English-speaking countries as "Mother Joan of the Angels", and in Japan as "Mother Joanna of the Angels"), the 1961 Jerzy Kawalerowicz Polish religious Catholic church supernatural exorcism horror melodrama (set in the 17th century, it deals with a high ranking priest in the Catholic church who is sent to a town where the Mother Superior is apparently possessed, and once there, he is to perform an exorcism, aided by a young priest) starring Lucyna Winnicka (in the title role as Mother Joan of the Angels), Mieczyslaw Voit, Anna Ciepielewska, Maria Chwalibog, and Zygmunt Zintel. Note that there are really significant parallels between this movie and the classic movie "The Exorcist", made in 1973, but the author of that novel, William Peter Blatty, said that he was inspired by a 1949 case that he heard about in 1950, when he was a student at Georgetown University, where the case occurred! The poster had small tears at the crossfold, with tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds, and a few tiny tears in the borders.
