An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Brother Orchid, the 1940 Lloyd Bacon gangster-on-the-run crime screwball comedy ("We'd like youse to meet Brother Orchid"; "Based on the Collier's magazine story by Richard Connell"; about a gangster who hides out in a monastery, and pretends to join the order, with great comic results!) starring Edward G. Robinson (in the title role as Little John Sarto/Brother Orchid), Ann Sothern, Humphrey Bogart (in one of his many unsympathetic gangster roles, after making The Petrified Forest, but before Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon), Donald Crisp, Ralph Bellamy, Allen Jenkins, and Paul Guilfoyle NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good to fine. there was a tiny chip of paper loss near the top of the left blank border and five small tears in the left blank border; there was a 1" L-shaped tear in the left of the top blank border; someone put small pieces of brown tape on the backs of these areas, and also covering the top left corner where a diagonal crease had made the paper fragile; there was a thin line of surface paper loss in the edge of the brown area where the diagonal crease was and someone hand-colored that with a brown ink; there was a 1/2" tear in the middle of the right blank border (repaired with tape from the back); there was a single pinhole in the center of the top blank border; Other than the above truly minor defects, the card is in really wonderful condition. I can't imagine a collector who would not be happy to own and display this great card! Learn More about condition grades
