A Group of 6 Camera Original Photographic Negatives (measure 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" [6 x 6 cm]) (Learn More)

Hellfighters, the 1968 Andrew V. McLaglen oil well firefighter fireman rescue melodrama (loosely based on the life of oil field firefighter Red Adair, who became even more famous in the early 1990s for helping put out the massive oil well fires in Kuwait at the end of the first Gulf War!) starring John Wayne (as Red Adair; "The toughest Hellfighter of all!"), Katharine Ross (billed as "That 'Graduate' Girl"), Jim Hutton, Jay C. Flippen, Bruce Cabot, and Vera Miles ("as Madelyn")

Important Added Info: Note that these are negatives that were in the camera when the photographer shot the photos. We have put a scan of each negative that shows the "positive image" (in addition to a scan of the negative image). REMEMBER THAT WHAT YOU RECEIVE WILL BE PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVES, NOT POSITIVE IMAGES LIKE YOU ARE SEEING. However, we will provide the winning bidder of this auction the positive image scans that are both high quality and not watermarked (on request to the winning bidder, and only the winning bidder). Each negative is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed each and scanned each, so that bidders could see just how high quality they are). They will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeves. These often (but not always) have retouching on the emulsion side, and negative numbers written in India ink on the front. Depending on the studio some 8x10 negatives may be trimmed or have numbers or information embedded into the sides of the negative. Many smaller format camera original negatives do not have retouching on them or numbers due to their smaller size. 8x10, 5x7 and 4x5 negatives were primarily the sizes used in the 1920s through the 1940s. 2 1/4" Rollei negatives and 35mm negatives became an industry standard in the 1950s and beyond until the digital revolution in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
