An Autographed Letter (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 1 page) (Learn More)

Ross Hunter was an actor and producer from the 1940s to the 1970s. He started as an actor right after being released from service during World War II, but after he appeared in ten movies, he went behind the camera and became a legendary producer! Of course, Hunter is best known for his 1950s romantic melodramas. Some of his best movies include: Airport, Pillow Talk, Imitation of Life, All that Heaven Allows, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He also had a longtime personal and professional relationship with Jacques Mapes for over 40 years. Hunter passed away in 1996 at the age of 75.
Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Ross Hunter!

This is one of several signed photos and letters that were given to Virgil Proctor, who was a member of the crew on a movie this star worked on (he was a "best boy" on a number of movies of this period, and there are others he worked on that he was not credited on). These items from Virgil Proctor's estate are personalized to him, and while his family does not have a certificate of authenticity for any of the items, we are certain the signatures are authentic (in our July Major Auction, we auctioned an unsigned Spartacus money clip (which sold for $678) and an unsigned Christmas card (which sold for $980), both of which were given to Mr. Proctor by Kirk Douglas, and obviously, the stars he worked with cared enough to personally sign and gift items to him!).

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.

Condition: very good.
