Wylie"; about a young girl from a small town who wins a scholarship to a fancy music school where everyone else is rich, and the other girls snub her at first, but she wins them over) starring Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), Nan Grey, Gloria Jean, Beulah Bondi, Virginia Weidler, Margaret Lindsay, C. Aubrey Smith, Billy Gilbert, Ann Gillis, Raymond Wallburn, Paul Cavanagh, and Samuel S. Hinds. Note that Universal thought that Deanna Durbin was starting to get too old to play teenage roles, so they found 11 year-old Gloria Jean, and they intended that her role in this movie would help make her the next Deanna Durbin. Jean had a pretty good career, but not like Durbin's, and in fact, Durbin continued with the same sort of roles she had been playing for another ten years!
